Efter att ha samarbetat med Tens Gary Hughes för hans tre första soloalbum, och med sin kollega i Hard Rain-bandet Paul Hodson för hans fjärde, när det kom till Spirit of Man, Bobs femte album, arbetade Magnum-sångaren med killarna från Lost Weekend, tillsammans med Vince O'Regan (Escape, Legion, Pulse), som hade varit Bobs turnerande gitarrist under många av hans solospelningar. Vince och Bob spelade också akustiska spelningar, och under denna produktiva period drog sig duon tillbaka till Vinces studio och spelade in akustiska versioner av låtar som täckte hela Bobs solokarriär. Resultatet är 11 låtar som framhäver de älskade sammetslena tonerna i Catleys sång och den melodiska klarheten i O'Regans delikata fingerplockning. Amon Amarths trettonde album, "The Allfather Awakens", är ett tiolåtars verk som lyfter bandet till nya höjder med kraftfulla riff och melodisk death metal. Albumet innehåller episka spår som "Gjallarhorn", "Eight Legs of Thunder" och "Upphaf", bandets första akustiska låt, baserad på en vers ur Völusp&#225;. Albumet skrevs simultant med turnerande och spelades in i två omgångar hos producenten Jacob Hansen i Danmark.
